Our Family Assessment and Support Teams work with a range of children, their families, carers, and networks. This includes children in need, those subject to child protection plans, and those needing public law proceedings.
A good understanding of legislation, practice, and court processes is essential. In NYC, we offer extensive training and support for your continual professional development, covering our defined practice model, Systemic, signs of safety, and family seeing/network training.
We have high aspirations for our young people and strive to work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families, believing that each child has a supportive network essential for their development.
The role is varied; no two days are the same. One day you may be completing words and pictures with a family, and the next, supporting a young person with complex needs. We work with all young people from birth to 18, maintaining strong links with external agencies and teams in North Yorkshire.
The team consists of a Team Manager and Practice Supervisors who support our Social Workers. We have dedicated business support to enable Social Workers to spend more time with children and families. Our well-defined supervision policy includes regular group and individual supervisions, as well as opportunities to engage in County Wide practice model sessions and appreciative inquiry discussions with our Principal Social Worker.
The team is creative in our approach to working with families, and no two plans are the same. Social Workers are supported by new technology, allowing them to spend more time with young people rather than on administrative tasks.
We are looking for Social Workers with at least two years of post-qualifying experience and a ‘can do’ attitude, who are child-focused, think outside the box, and are creative in their planning with children.
Be the change you trained to be.
