The role of the Employment Specialist is to achieve delivery targets by working with participants to identify employment opportunities and support them into sustainable employment. The participants you’ll work with will mainly require health support needs. You’ll deliver our Working Well Norfolk approach providing person-centred advice and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with referral partners and relevant local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge or experience of employer needs and employer engagement and experience of working in a target driven environment. We are, however, open to various backgrounds and experiences as we are able to provide superb on-the-job training. We’re not looking for someone who ticks every box, just so long as you have an engaging personality, are comfortable working with a diverse group of people, and can provide a warm and welcoming experience to help our participants in their first steps back into employment.

Key Responsibilities
10. Manage a caseload of up to 25 clients who have health support needs who are motivated to start/return to work.
11. Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach for which training will be given.
12. Meet and support clients to understand their key skills, aspirations, and goals through completing a Vocational Profile and produce an Action Plan to help them obtain and sustain competitive employment. This includes support with their job search, CV production, application forms, interview techniques and career development.
13. Assess client’s support needs related to work which may include benefits/welfare advice, disclosure of health symptoms etc, and provide support & guidance.
14. Attend regular multidisciplinary team meetings with key partners as an embedded IPS practitioner.

Skills and Experience
Essential
15. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification or experience.
16. Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products and modern digital technologies, i.e. Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business
17. Knowledge or experience of employer needs and employer engagement.
18. Experience of working in a target driven environment
19. Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards
Desirable
20. Knowledge of the employability industry
21. Experience and Trained in IPS approach
22. Level 3 Diploma in Employability Services Sector Qualification
23. QCF in Advice & Guidance (Level 3).
24. Knowledge of the recruitment industry
25. Experience of working with people in the provision of ‘information, advice & guidance’
26. Full driving licence to enable deployment across a specified geographical area (region), when required
