Our client is an industry-leading manufacturer who produces an ever-evolving product range for their customer base, currently recording record profit levels. They have a range of customers, from blue-chip household names to smaller brands, and operate internationally while continuing to expand globally.
The Job
Reporting into the Procurement Manager and working alongside 2 other Buyers, this Buyer job will be responsible for the largest area of spend (up to 4m) but only from a small number of suppliers.
While this role is not senior in title, it carries significant responsibilities and duties. You will be responsible for all related purchasing duties in your area while providing appropriate KPI updates to the wider business and maintaining accurate system data for suppliers (lead time, pricing, due dates, batch sizes, and cost price field for new items, etc.). You will also play a key role in the overall purchasing strategy supporting the Procurement Manager. A full specification can be provided.
The Requirements:
1. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in Purchasing within Manufacturing and/or Engineering environments at Buyer or Senior Buyer level, including experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
2. You must have experience with BOMs, assemblies, and structural experience in a fast-paced environment.
3. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to deliver multiple tasks simultaneously, and be a team player who works collaboratively towards business objectives.
4. CIPS qualified or working towards it is beneficial but not essential.
5. You must be a commercial individual as you will be involved in strategic-level decision-making supporting the Procurement Manager.
Salary and Benefits
You will receive 25 days holiday, matched enhanced pensions, death in service, private medical, bonus, and a salary to be negotiated on appointment but circa 40k.
