The Role As a Design Engineer, you’ll be a key part of the engineering team, contributing to the development of innovative products that set the standard in the industry. Your responsibilities will include: Creating detailed 2D site layouts and 3D CAD designs. Preparing comprehensive drawing packs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production. Driving process improvements to enhance time-to-market, product quality, and production cost-efficiency. This role offers variety, technical challenge, and the opportunity to make a real impact on product innovation. The Person To excel in this role, you will have: A minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. At least 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Experience designing products such as lifting/loading equipment, conveying systems, material handling equipment, or special-purpose machinery. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk Inventor or Creo (other packages such as SolidWorks or SolidEdge will also be considered). Knowledge of Eurocodes, engineering principles, and stress analysis of steel structures (advantageous). Package & Benefits Salary: Up to £35,000 (dependent on experience). Working Hours: 39 hours per week with flexible start and finish times and an early finish on Fridays. Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Pension: 5% employer contribution.
