Ringway Jacobs are looking for an enthusiastic Engineer to join the ITS team to provide design services for the Essex Highways contract. The ITS Design team are responsible for the design and installation acceptance of new and refurbished traffic control solutions including pedestrian crossings, traffic signal junctions, CCTV installations and electronic driver messaging signs. Together with undertaking feasibility studies and checking and approval of third party ITS proposals across the County.
The Role
1. Design and deliver ITS designs and specification documents in order schemes can be tendered and constructed using our supply chain partners.
2. Answer and discuss technical questions and proposals relating to ITS and Traffic Engineering.
3. Engage with and resolve issues with clients, operations teams, colleagues, supply chain and external parties.
4. Comply with and promote Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.
5. Assist in the management and monitoring of works programmes.
6. Familiar with traffic signal control strategies including VA, UTC/SCOOT and MOVA.
7. Skilled in writing controller configuration forms and ITS technical specifications.
8. Ability to carry out ITS technical reviews of third party designs and proposals.
9. Knowledge of, and experience in ITS standards and specifications.
10. Knowledge and application of Health and Safety legislation including CDM Regulations.
