Role Title: Community Developer – Greater Oxford Salary: £24,000 Fixed Term Contract based on the terms of the current funding. Currently 2-year position with possibility for extension. We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Community Developer to join the British Cycling Participation Team working in Greater Oxford. This is a home-based role with frequent travel around the area therefore applicants need to live within 30 minutes of Oxford City. Maintaining and developing new partnerships and relationships within the local communities in and around Greater Oxford to provide support for the delivery of local community cycling programmes. Working alongside Council stakeholders to engage with local workplaces building a strong and sustainable Active Travel workplace offer. Developing, coordinating, and contributing to the delivery of a local community programme aimed at children & young people, families and women & girls. Developing the local workforce and community volunteers to ensure sustainability of the local programme. Feed into the Development plan ensuring an integrated and coherent pathway of cycling opportunities in in place for Greater Oxford and linking community cycling with clubs, schools, events and others. Working with local communities to develop the community pathway, raising awareness of the work of British Cycling and growing & diversifying participation along with supporting more people to cycle more frequently. Support and build capacity through bespoke education course delivery, expanding access to courses to upskill the volunteer workforce within Greater Oxford. About you: Sound knowledge of cycling an/or sport and the associated physical activity delivery. Awareness of current development in cycling in terms of transport, health, and recreational agendas. Track record in partnership working and development. Experience of partnership programme delivery Good organisational and project coordination skills with experience of being able to prioritise, plan and manage competing demands. Experience of using social media to promote and engage audiences is desirable but not essential. What are the perks?
