About the Role
Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for the next step in your career? We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our small but busy Finance Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who is eager to develop and grow as our company continues to expand.
Based at our Head Office in Dover, our Finance Department supports the operational and strategic functions of the business. The key purpose of this role is to administrate, process, and maintain relevant systems within LDC Care Co’s payroll function to ensure that our approximately 550 colleagues are paid correctly within each pay period and that we meet our statutory obligations.
As the Payroll Specialist, you will ensure compliance with legislation and contractual requirements, maintain accurate records, and provide reports to management as required.
The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Processing the company’s payroll in line with contractual pay dates and periods.
2. Maintaining accurate records around employee pay, rates, roles, annual leave, and company payroll processes.
3. Processing of new starters and leavers.
4. Supporting staff with queries relating to their pay, deductions, attendance, and time records.
5. Collating and processing all fit notes, attachment of earnings notices, and any other information required.
6. Managing the early pay withdrawal system.
7. Competently administering auto-enrolment pensions.
8. Support with the creation and administration of end of month reporting, including the wage journal.
9. Reporting on key monitoring areas to support the operational management of staffing.
10. Maintain awareness of changes which impact payroll and company processes, for example, changes to legislation or updated advice from HMRC.
About You
About the Person
Ideally, you’ll hold CIPP or equivalent payroll qualification. We understand that sometimes qualifications aren’t everything, so you may be able to demonstrate relevant experience and be interested in pursuing that further.
You will need experience in Payroll software and have an excellent grasp of Excel. Preferably, you will also have experience processing a payroll for a large company.
