We have a rare opportunity for a qualified distribution line mechanic with strong leadership experience to oversee maintenance and capital works on our distribution network. As Overhead Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the team in the field, ensuring operational excellence and having a thorough understanding and focus on health and safety. You will take responsibility for the safe and efficient conduct of your team members and any contractors working with them and ensure all systems and processes enable efficient delivery of projects and routine services. This is a great opportunity to play an active part in assisting with the managing, planning and execution of programmes of work. You will also develop future business opportunities and build long term business relationships.
Key responsibilities:
* Oversee repairs and maintenance of overhead and underground electricity services according to project specifications,
* Implement safe working procedures and practices to maintain a safe working culture,
* Ensure positive team morale and provide opportunities for individuals to grow,
* Work proactively and collaboratively with other teams across the business to effectively complete projects,
* Read plans and drawings to ensure work is completed to standard including associated paperwork,
* Organise resource for after-hours fault roster, and as required be available to resource short notice work.
About you:
Applicants must hold a current NZ Electrical Registration, and EWRB practicing licence. Proven overhead lines experience within the electricity supply industry is essential (preferably glove and barrier qualified). You will also have:
* an absolute commitment to workplace and public safety,
* demonstrated leadership ability, capable in leading and managing a team,
* an ability to adapt to new technologies and systems,
* an ability to manage the teams work priorities and cope well under pressure,
* a professional and results oriented approach with good business and customer focus,
* an ability to think on your feet to deal with planned and unplanned work delivery.
