The Governing Body at Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School are looking to recruit an Assistant Headteacher – English to play a crucial role in developing teaching and the quality of education and lead the development of teaching in English.
Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School is a single sex boy’s secondary, and sixth form school based in Liverpool. There are currently almost 1400 pupils on roll.

The specific responsibilities of the Assistant Headteacher fall into the following areas:
* To fulfil all the responsibilities of a main-scale teacher
* To provide professional leadership and management for English
* To support, hold accountable, develop and lead department staff, including TLR post holders
* To ensure high standards of teaching, learning, student achievement and progress
* To play a full part in the life of the school community, supporting its ethos and policies and ensuring that staff and students follow this example.
