The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a psychology service to adults in the specialist palliative care service with complex psychological needs, providing specialised psychological assessment, evidence-based interventions and therapy to service users and support to their family/relatives. The role will also involve offering advice and Consultation on client psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues. The post holder will be an active member of the Specialist Palliative Care service utilising specialised research skills for audit, contributing to the development of local team policies and procedures in order to facilitate service development and evaluation. This post is open to any doctoral level trained psychologist (or equivalent) with HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist. Main duties of the job The psychologist will be expected to provide direct and indirect psychological work both on a face to face and remote basis and in groups and individually. They will offer the MDT a psychological perspective and provide consultation, psychological training to increase the psychological mindedness of the service. To advise service and professional management on aspects of the service related to the team where psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing and to provide clinical supervision to multi-disciplinary staff within the team, as appropriate.
