Special Needs Youth Worker
Location: Towcester
Pay: £85 - £110 p/day
Start date: 6th - 27th January 2025
We are currently looking for Special Needs Youth Workers to provide support to pupils aged 8-18 with challenging behaviours, Aspergers, ASD and ADHD.
This role is temporary to permanent, so please be willing to move into a permanent position when applying.
All candidates must be able to work full time from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Part time is not considered for this role.
If you have or are studying an Education degree at the University of Northampton, we highly value your experience and knowledge.
The candidate needs to:
1. Provide references from an educational background
2. Have experience with children or young adults (essential)
3. Work with and support SEND pupils
4. Maintain a professional manner in and outside of the school
5. Be friendly and resilient as behaviours can be challenging
6. Have a desire to support children
7. Possess excellent behaviour management skills, or be willing to learn
8. Support on a 1:1 basis when needed
9. Build great relationships with staff and pupils
10. Work on-site and off-site, managing behaviours in both areas
11. Be flexible in the workplace
12. Team Teach trained (desirable but not essential)

The registration is free. You will need references covering your last 2 years of employment, with at least 1 from your most recent school.
If you want to work in schools, you need a child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service. If you need a DBS, Monarch Education will refund its cost.
