Salary: £23,849 - 27, 300 pro rata (£17,886 - £20,474 actual)
Additional Holiday Allowance: £1.10 - £1.16 per hour We're excited to announce that our team at Summergil House School is growing, and we're looking for dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistants to join us on our mission. At our school in Summergil House, Presteigne, we believe in providing exceptional care and support to help children with Autism learn and develop.You will provide education and organisational support to the class teacher, guide pupils during structured and non-structured sessions and assist each student to achieve their full potential. Surrounded by 18 acres of fields and woodlands, with its own stream and lake, a swimming pool, sports hall and vast amounts of in and outdoor learning and play opportunities, Summergil House is a stunning school on the border of Herefordshire and Powys. Our team of creative education, care and therapeutic professionals support children to feel safe and respected, whilst providing bright and colourful child-friendly environments in which to learn, live and make friends. Our aim is to help children to be themselves, creating lasting memories of childhood as they develop into independent young people and adults.
A day in the life of a Learning Support Assistant with Orbis Education and Care Involves:
1. Providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities using a variety of teaching approaches and activities support pupils to make progress towards their agreed accreditations.
2. Supporting teachers with the planning, preparation and assessment of learning opportunities.
3. Assisting with the planning and implementation of off-site activities.
4. Assisting pupils who require help during morning routines, lunch/break times or with personal care.
To be a successful Learning Support Assistant with Orbis Education and Care, you’ll need:
5. Qualification in English & Maths;
6. Ability to relate well to pupils and build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level;
7. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
8. Must be able to show initiative;
9. Ability to offer personal care in a respectful way.
Please note: This job role involves regulated activity with children and requires an enhanced DBS with barred list check.
