Job summary INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY An exciting post has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Endoscopist at Wye Valley Trust. You will be competent and JAG accredited at undertaking diagnostic gastroscopies, sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopies independently. Ideally you will have completed or be working towards your nurse prescriber course if applicable. You will work with the MDT and contribute to the development, management and delivery of a high quality general and specialist mixed GI endoscopy service. The role will predominantly involved flexible endoscopy sessions at both our County Hospital and Ross Community Hospital sites. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will be allocated up to 5 endoscopy lists a week over a 5 day week as required. This will include working at both our endoscopy sites at the County Hospital and Ross Community Hospital. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner to carry out endoscopies as well as administer conscious sedation. They will be able to identify abnormal pathology, perform biopsies and act on these accordingly within Trust protocols. They will be a supportive and leading role for the rest of the team and contribute to the development of pathways and protocols to keep up to date with the latest guidance and national standards. They will be expected to contribute to audit work and present at various forums. The successful candidate must be JAG accredited and use the JETS system to maintain their portfolio.
