The Cambian Group is one of the largest providers of specialist behavioural health services for children and adults in the UK. Our work in the UK embraces many specialist services including children’s specialist education, children’s residential services, adult mental health, acquired brain injury and fostering services.
Cambian Dilston College is an independent specialist provider of further education in the North East of England, offering 38-week, 52-week residential as well as day placements for young people with learning difficulties, Autism, challenging behaviour and complex needs. The young people that attend our college range between 16 and 25 years of age.
The Role
The Head of Care (Registered manager) role is a Senior Leadership position within Dilston College, a residential college for children and adults between the ages of 16 and 25. Leading a large care team and motivating the care team; including Deputy Home Managers, Team leaders, Night Senior Learning Support and Residential Support Workers, they will innovate and improve the quality of the provision. The Head of Care will share the responsibility in ensuring the safe and effective operations of our 52 week and 38 week care students at the college providing high quality and person centred residential support during their 2-3 year placements. Dilston College students live within small homes across the site.
Working alongside the Principal, Head of Education and leadership team to developing the quality of provision and staff teams’ skills and abilities to deliver our college intent, working collaboratively to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and personal resilience that will prepare them for their best possible adult life.

Requirements for an Enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
