New Directions Education are looking to recruit Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) to work in Primary Schools across the Wirral. There is currently a high demand of supply cover needed within primary schools. In order to cover this significant requirement, New Directions are looking to recruit confident teachers who are able to teach EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
Registering with New Directions allows you to choose how little or many days a week you desire to work. Day to day supply enables you as an ECT to experience many different schools and classroom environments that will assist you to make your own informed decisions and teaching pedagogies. Long-term supply positions will allow you to fully embrace a school’s culture, enabling you to build strong relationships with students and staff.
As a New Directions teacher, we expect that you will have good curriculum knowledge, can create impromptu lessons, follow lesson plans, are professional towards staff, students and parents, tidy the classroom and complete all marking.
We currently have long-term, short-term and ad hoc positions available. New Directions are also happy to cover the initial DBS cost for any ECTs who register before or during summer 2024!

We recruit primary teachers for jobs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) primary teacher job roles.
As a primary school teacher you’ll be expected to:
1. Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
2. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
3. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
5. Maintain discipline
6. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
7. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
8. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
9. Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
10. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
