Job Description
What you will be focusing on as a Solutions Engineer
* Help clients evaluate the Dynatrace Observability & Security Platform.
* Partner with sales representatives to identify new sales opportunities as well as incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts.
* Provide technical leadership in the Discovery, Solution Evaluation, and Solution Proposal stages of the opportunity sales cycle.
* Take ownership of solution evaluations and Proofs-of-Concept in support of sales opportunities either directly or through channel partners.
* Maintain and continuously develop technical knowledge.
* Share knowledge across the team and continuously develop and enhance personal and team capabilities.
* Provide feedback to Product Management for enhancements needed in the market and escalation required to resolve technical issues.
* Support key marketing events, ensuring top demos are delivered by you and the team at demo booths, and deliver keynote presentations on the main stage.
* Work with local Sales and Solutions Engineering leadership to identify learning and development opportunities for you and the local team.
Qualifications
To ensure your success as a Solutions Engineer at Dynatrace, you need to be an ambitious, confident, and self-motivated individual, with previous SE experience or another technical customer-facing role. You need to be passionate about innovative technology, technical sales, and articulating value to customers and prospects. In addition, we are also looking for:
* Experience supporting Sales teams in Presales roles, demonstrating a track record leading to sales success.
* Excellent communication and presentational skills, both virtual and in person.
* The ability to position, explain, and present the value of the Dynatrace offering, tying this into the prospect's/customers' key business and strategic goals, including ROI calculations.
* An excellent team player, with the ability to work across all disciplines.
* Ability to troubleshoot technical issues to produce a working outcome and manage this process.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work with different salespeople, and support other SEs as needed.
* A strong desire to grow professionally, adapt to an ever-changing environment, and be coachable.
* Experience working within or with a software sales team.
Desired Experience & Skills:
* Experience with technologies and techniques around Observability, including OpenTelemetry.
* Experience with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes/Openshift.
* Experience with Cloud environments like Azure, AWS, GCP.
* Knowledge and practical experience in modern programming languages and frameworks like TypeScript/JavaScript (including React framework), Java, C#/.NET, Go, SQL, etc., as well as web technologies.
* Experience with DevOps and SRE methodologies such as CI/CD pipelines, SLOs, error budgets, blue/green deployments, etc.
* Experience administering and operating typical OSs, including Windows and Linux on the command line.
* Knowledge in log analytics, security, and automation is highly appreciated.
* Must be fluent in English.
