At Cedar Oak, care workers care for service users with physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments. Our carers provide support, encouragement, and companionship by engaging service users in activities such as cooking, playing games, visiting places, taking walks, or conversing. They support service users with personal care and daily activities such as toileting, washing and bathing, dressing, brushing teeth, combing hair, making beds, going shopping, taking medication, preparing and serving meals, changing pads, and other routine tasks. Carers assist service users with mobility, including transfers at home or, as needed, transporting from home to community places and back. Carers also order, collect, and administer medication as directed by prescribers. They also serve as a bridge between the service user, Cedar Oak, and other healthcare professionals, raising concerns and communicating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure service users are safe and comfortable at home.
