Personal Assistant required to work in North Somerset
My client is looking to employ a personal care assistant to support her with her chronic medical condition, manage chronic fatigue, and also has a compromised immune system. Currently lives with an elderly mother who has COPD and poor mobility. The chronic fatigue limits my client’s ability to do certain tasks; flexibility is a must for this role. Uses a manual walker trolley and/or foldable lightweight wheelchair when outdoors.
My client enjoys crafting (speciality: Embroidering) and bird watching, wildlife, and the natural world.
Please note: My client is allergic to strong perfumes as this causes a migraine and Penicillin.
Main Duties
To support with:
1. Washing and dressing
2. Domestic: Laundry and cleaning, changing bedding, cleaning the shower
3. Support accessing the community: Needs assistance with attending appointments, e.g., Doctors, Opticians, Hospital (blood and Iron transfusions), Shopping
Essential Criteria
1. Must be able to drive and have use of own vehicle.
2. Mileage will be included for specific activities and appointments.
3. Getting lightweight manual wheelchair in and out of the car.
4. Pushing me in my lightweight wheelchair to get to appointments and shopping.
Desirable criteria:
1. Non-Smoker
2. PA to have received COVID vaccines
Personal Qualities & Attributes Required
1. Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.
2. Excellent timekeeping.
3. Some previous PA experience would be advantageous but not essential.
4. Good communication and social skills.
5. To respect confidentiality and privacy.
Location: Weston-Super-Mare, North Somerset.
Hours: 7 hours per week on a Wednesday & Friday (flexibility with the days/hours)
Pay: £12.08 Per Hour.
Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time).
Start Date: ASAP.
Additional Information
1. Appointment will be subject to a DBS check, funded by the employer.
