We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, ensuring supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with organisational goals.
Our prestigious client supply many major food producers and retail brands, as well as to wholesaler and distributor markets worldwide, including Central & Northern Europe, Asia, North & South America and Australia.

The ideal candidate will possess –
• Experience in fast – paced manufacturing / FMCG environment
• CIPS qualified (or working towards)
• Previous experience in Purchasing, Procurement & Supply Chain within manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of SAP
• Good computer knowledge
• Ability to work within fast paced environment
• Excellent team work and communication skills
Key duties of the role include -
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure the best value for the organisation.
• Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to optimise inventory levels and streamline supply chain operations.
• Utilise systems such as SAP for effective tracking and management of purchasing activities.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
• Monitor supplier performance, addressing any issues that arise to maintain quality standards.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activities, trends, and forecasts for senior management review.
