What you’ll be doing
The job holder will lead a team of editorial staff managing in-house projects as a key part of the Product Delivery team, supporting the Division in the delivery of the product roadmap. The job holder will manage the recruitment, training, resourcing and career development of a team of Editorial Project Managers, and is responsible for ensuring effective, streamlined processes are used throughout.
This role will be the departmental point of contact for all resource requests and will determine in-house or out-of-house route. They will manage the division’s in-house capacity, allocating new projects to the in-house team, and create and implement processes to support effective resource management.
The role is responsible for managing workload and performance to deliver agreed content on schedule, within budget and to appropriate quality.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be an experienced line manager who has managed large teams of editors. They will have managed a variety of complex print and digital products from manuscript to publication, ideally in educational publishing or related field. They will have excellent project management skills, and have extensive experience managing budgets and suppliers.
We are looking for someone who has strong capacity management skills, able to resource and oversee multiple products through to publication. They will have proven process improvement skills and have experience in implementing new processes.

The role will be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
