Position: Year 5 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Just outside of Lancaster
Qualifications Required: Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
Experience: Previous experience working in a classroom environment and with SEN students
Transport: Must be able to travel to the school via car
About the Role:
As a Year 5 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a student with special educational needs within a Year 5 classroom setting. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised learning plans and ensure that the student is fully supported in accessing the national curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support to the assigned student, both in and out of the classroom environment.
2. Assist the student with academic tasks, including literacy, numeracy, and other areas of the curriculum.
3. Implement strategies to support the student's social and emotional development.
4. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Monitor the student's progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
6. A relevant qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
7. Previous experience working in a classroom setting, preferably with Year 5 students.
8. Experience working with SEN students and a good understanding of their needs and requirements.
9. Ability to travel to the school via car, as public transport options may be limited.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
