The Transportation Manager is responsible for managing CFB’s transportation activities to meet operational objectives while ensuring compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and compliance policies. All responsibilities shall be consistent with CFB’s mission to end hunger. Requirements I. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervisory responsibility for all drivers and drivers/ warehouse associates. Monitor drivers schedule, hours, and timecards. Monitor drivers’ routes through Azuga routing and tracking system Assist drivers with correct orders being loaded onto trucks each morning and ensure end of day tasks are completed Optimize transportation routes through Azuga routing software and manage on-time pickup and deliveries (stores, distribution centers, agencies, and mobile pantries.) Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation/delivery issues, while providing superior customer service both internally and externally. Ensure that all DOT, OSHA, and Food Safety (including AIB) requirements are met. Ensure that all vehicles have proper safety equipment and documentation. Serve on Safety Committee and promote a culture that addresses safety proactively. Facilitate driver training and safety programs. Responsible for managing and coordinating all fleet maintenance. Maintain confidential paperwork and records Other duties as assigned. II. Qualifications: Education and Experience 4-year degree and/or comparable experience in transportation/ logistics At least four years of progressively responsible experience managing truck routing and scheduling that includes shipping and receiving, supervisory, administrative, and organizational experience. Experience and knowledge about refrigerated trucking. Three to five years of transportation supervision experience. Three to five years of overseeing dispatch and routing processes. Must be familiar with DOT Class A and Class B driver and vehicle requirements Proven ability to examine and interpret a wide variety of information and make recommendations or decisions. Project management experience preferred. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills are required Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment. IV. Physical Requirements: Ability to process information through a computer system. Ability to talk and hear to communicate with diverse constituents and staff. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. Ability to use hands to handle or feel items such as documents. Close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus is needed. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and lift 15 pounds or more. Ability to drive motor vehicles. Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee responsibilities.
