To co-ordinate and supervise work groups by assigning work, scheduling work hours, checking results, taking actions to ensure quality work, and providing training for staff. To supervise physical works on site, ensuring safe delivery, compliance to appropriate internal and external standards and timely completion and entry into service.
Person Specification
* PTS, COSS track safety competencies.
* Proven experience of team leadership and influencing staff.
* Previous experience of Track/Drainage/Civils installation and construction activities with a thorough working knowledge of Network Rail standards.
* Proven experience of delivering to budgets and timescales.
* Understanding of other related rail disciplines and interface management.
* Engineering Supervisor Competency.
* Preferably have Track Handback/Authorised Person competence.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the safety integrity of all activities undertaken by the staff you are responsible for.
* Manage site construction costs against agreed project targets and manage robust records to support this.
* Organise, manage and develop a first-class Drainage & Civils delivery team and maintain suitable hard copy and soft copy records for regular audit.
* Assist the Site Manager and Production Manager through the allocation of labour resources to projects, both internal and external to deliver required skills and keep the team utilisation on or above target.
* Take active involvement in the planning of work packages, working alongside the technical staff.
* Plan, order and oversee RRV and small plant requirements, material requirements and manage site storage issues.
* Prepare all necessary CDM compliance documentations as required.
* As you will expect, the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
* Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
