Your key responsibilities will include:
* Establishing an effective incoming material inspection program, including routine inspection as required
* Reviewing and assessing supplier documentation, certifications and compliance records.
* Maintaining accurate records of supplier qualifications and performance metrics.
* Working closely with procurement, engineering and other departments to ensure supplier-related quality issues are addressed promptly.
* Preparing and reports and data on supplier quality performance and audit findings for inclusion in activities like Management Review and Supplier Review meetings.
* Facilitating the implementation of the non-conformance investigation process (SCAR & NCR) to ensure adequate and appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
* Identification of improvements with respect to the supplier non-conformance management process and its implementation.
* Conducting Quality audits/assessments in line with the surveillance plan and against the Suppliers contracted Quality requirements, reviewing the Supplier's corrective action progress, conducting product acceptance, with the aim of reducing project risk.
* Supporting inspection readiness programs for the site, while ensuring compliance with the QMS for the scope of work defined in the SLA and/or Quality Agreement.
* Management of the Goods Inwards Inspection Laboratory, including the management of gauges and products whilst under incoming QA control.
* Other reasonable duties as directed by the Head of Quality.
Skills & Attributes
You will possess:
* Strong communication and presentation skills to operate collaboratively with teams at all levels within and outside the organisation.
* Ability to think pragmatically in overcoming challenges and issues with supplier quality.
* Ability to prepare reports to management that are simple, clear, and concise.
* Ability to confidently conduct both internal and supplier audits.
* Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and fast paced and rapidly evolving working environment.
The essentials:
* 5+ years’ experience of quality management systems, techniques and processes, ideally as part of the supplier quality team in a regulated environment.
* Good knowledge of key external standards, such as ISO9001:2015.
* Experienced in continuous improvement Quality Tools & Techniques (eg 8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, PFMEA).
* Practical knowledge of non-conformance management processes is an advantage.
* Ideally qualified as a minimum to HND or HNC level in a relevant engineering subject. Evidence of quality assurance training is an advantage.
* Previous internal and supplier auditor exposure (training can be provided).
* Good knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel and PowerPoint.
