We are seeking a motivated and skilled Estates Surveyor to join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering strategic asset management services across Cumbria. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Council’s property portfolio, ensuring it is fit for purpose and supports the delivery of essential services to our communities. As an Estates Surveyor, you will provide professional expertise in estates and valuation matters, working closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative property solutions. Key Responsibilities Provide and commission locality-based professional strategic asset management planning services. Support the development and delivery of the Council’s property portfolio to ensure it is fit for purpose and aligned with service delivery objectives. Act as a professional expert in estates and valuation matters, providing market knowledge and property portfolio insights for the nominated area/locality. Contribute to area-based property rationalisation projects, including sales, savings, and income generation initiatives. Support the delivery of the Council’s Capital Programme and Property Strategy across Cumbria’s communities. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide relevant property information and advice. Assist in the delivery of statutory asset valuation programmes and major financial plans. About You To succeed in this role, you will have: A degree or equivalent qualification in Estate Management, Surveying, or a related field. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent professional body (or working towards this). Proven experience in estates management, valuation, and property portfolio management. Strong knowledge of property markets and asset management principles. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
