Head of Employee Experience & Internal Communications
Purpose of Role:
The Head of Employee Experience & Internal Communications is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and enhancing the overall employee experience, internal communications, DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging), and social impact initiatives at Bright Horizons. This role is pivotal in creating a positive and engaging environment for all employees, regardless of their role, level, or working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Lead, inspire, and develop a multi-functional team to deliver a sector-leading employee experience for all Bright Horizons colleagues in the UK.
2. Employee Experience Design: Collaborate with senior leaders to craft an unparalleled employee experience for both new and existing employees, whether they work remotely or in person.
3. HR Collaboration: Partner with the HR team to design and implement experiences related to promotions, performance milestones, birthdays, anniversaries, and life events, ensuring these experiences are impactful and memorable.
4. Data-Driven Improvements: Utilize data from exit interviews and other sources to identify areas for improvement and drive enhancements in employee experiences and communications.
5. Communications Strategy: Oversee the creation and dissemination of employee communications, including emails, social media, leadership updates, and other materials, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals.
6. Issue Management: Anticipate and address issues requiring a communications response, working with the Creative and Content teams to deliver effective solutions.
7. Engagement and Platform Management: Drive the engagement and usage of communication tools and platforms, continuously updating and elevating them to enhance employee experience.
8. Social Impact Leadership: Lead Bright Horizons' social impact initiatives in collaboration with the HR Director, including organizing events, sourcing partnerships, arranging corporate initiatives, and driving fundraising efforts for the Bright Horizons Foundation.
9. DEIB Advocacy: Champion the DEIB agenda by developing and implementing programs, policies, and services that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within Bright Horizons. Collaborate with company leaders and Employee Advisory Groups to advance DEIB efforts.

10. Proven experience in shaping and implementing culture/people change, social impact, and DEIB programs.
11. Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving a high-performance culture, engaging and energizing teams, and building strong relationships.
12. Strategic perspective on people topics, with the ability to set the direction for employee experience programs that support the evolving needs of the organization.
13. Demonstrated success in employee experience, including EVP development, employer branding, internal communications, organizational development/design, culture change, and transformation.
14. Advanced influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse personality types.
15. Ability to work at a fast pace with high-quality output and manage a high workload.
16. Self-motivated and independent thinker, capable of leading others on the journey.
17. Collaborative team player with a service-oriented mindset, committed to making Bright Horizons a better place.
18. Extensive experience in creative, communication, events, or brand roles.
19. Background in people-focused environments and experience working closely with senior management.
