This is an exciting opportunity to join our very successful and thriving English and Media department, who work together very closely, sharing ideas, resources and strategies to build on existing good practice. The department is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. As a team, the department believes in a caring, positive, stimulating environment in which to support students in their learning and to help them to develop into mature, responsible young adults. As colleagues, they provide a similar degree of warmth and support. The department has very high expectations of students and of themselves, but also believes in maintaining a sense of humour and genuinely enjoy working together.
What the school offers its staff
This is an interesting and demanding post, but one which will give the right candidate an opportunity to be part of a committed and dedicated team of teachers and support staff, whose prime aims are the continuing improvement and development of the school and the support and encouragement of its students. All prospective applicants must be prepared to teach English Language, English Literature and Media Studies at GCSE and A-Level if appointed though teaching A-Level may be unlikely in the successful candidate’s first year in role. Training and support for all qualifications is offered within the department who consistently achieve excellent outcomes.
