Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2 ASC Class.
Location: Burgess Hill
School Overview:
Join a dedicated SEND school situated in Burgess Hill. The school is committed to providing support to children with varying needs, including challenging behaviour and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition).
Position Overview:
Dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants are required to join a Key Stage 2 ASC Class. The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who have recently graduated from university or hold a degree, although this is not a requirement. The successful candidate will work with training sessions held on Tuesdays from 4-5pm and Fridays from 2-5pm.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to students with Autism in Key Stage 2, both individually and in group settings.
2. Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
3. Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
4. Attend training sessions, including online training, to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.
5. Participate in an eight-week induction program and regular review meetings to ensure job satisfaction and ongoing support.
6. Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, promoting a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
1. A degree or recent graduate status is preferred but not required.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
3. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the students and the school environment.
4. Commitment to professional development and willingness to engage in ongoing training and support.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
6. Experience working with children with ASC or other special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
