Our client, a prominent entity in the rail sector, is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Manager for a contract position. This 6-month role, inside IR35, has the potential to become permanent after the initial period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide specialist environmental advice, becoming the focal point for knowledge, technical compliance, and competence matters, ensuring commitments and obligations are met.
2. Undertake environmental performance monitoring, analysis, and evaluation, creating reports and making recommendations to business leaders for continual improvement.
3. Identify environmental risks and opportunities, understanding how activities interact with the environment, and determining effective control measures to mitigate significant impacts.
4. Support leaders and operational teams in reducing the environmental impact of operations, promoting a collaborative approach with environmental, carbon, and sustainability professionals, including clients and partners.
5. Lead environmental incident investigations, producing reports and lessons learned to assist in implementing identified improvements.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in providing specialist environmental advice and technical compliance.
2. Skilled in environmental performance monitoring, analysis, and evaluation.
3. Proficiency in identifying environmental risks and implementing control measures.
4. Ability to support and collaborate with leaders and teams to reduce environmental impact.
5. Experience in leading incident investigations and producing detailed reports.
6. Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices within the rail sector.
