The Role
We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with specialist expertise in brain injury rehabilitation to join our team at consultant level. In this senior role (equivalent to an Associate Director level position), you will lead and deliver high-quality SLT services for clients.
Location: While we are ideally looking for someone based in the East or West Midlands, location is flexible for the right candidate. You must be willing to travel to client visits as needed.
Flexibility and Autonomy: You will manage your own diary, allowing a high degree of independence and flexibility to organise your schedule around client needs.
Clinical Focus: You will work across a varied caseload of both adult and paediatric clients, focusing on communication, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs, particularly following acquired brain injury.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior clinician ready to shape services, lead complex cases, and contribute to service developments.
Requirements
* Qualified SLT: Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree with current HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
* Extensive Experience: Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience, with significant expertise in acquired brain injury rehabilitation.
* Adult & Paediatric Experience: Clinical experience with both adult and paediatric populations (even if more limited in one area).
* Consultant-Level Skills: Ability to practice autonomously at a consultant/associate director level, leading complex cases independently.
* Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client homes, schools, and centres across the Midlands and beyond.
* Self-Management: Excellent skills in managing your own caseload, schedule, and clinical decision-making.
* Communication Skills: Outstanding ability to collaborate with clients, families, and MDT teams.
* Desirable: Experience or interest in medico-legal/expert witness work (with training opportunities available if not yet fully developed).
Benefits
* Salary: From £65,000 per annum, with higher salary negotiable depending on experience and expertise.
* Pension Scheme: Contributory workplace pension.
* Annual Leave: 5 weeks paid holiday (25 days) plus public holidays.
* Flexible Working: Manage your own diary to suit client and service needs; full-time and part-time applicants welcome.
* Professional Development: Opportunities for clinical development, leadership, and training in expert witness and medico-legal report writing.
* Mileage/Travel Expenses: Mileage and travel expenses paid.
