The Procurement Specialist- Packaging will be part of our exciting new team working with our commercial teams, to support in managing packaging-specific costs such as commodity movements, Packaging Recovery Notification movements, and new packaging formats. This opportunity will be a 12 month fixed term contract based at our Head Office in Bradford. In addition, with the new legislation on Extended Producer Responsibility, packaging will have a more significant role, with a full review of the material strategy and pack type definition, creating a great opportunity to drive change across multiple products. Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Creating a clear packaging plan, and opportunity to drive cost reductions through packaging format optimization, and commodity risk minimization
* You'll focus on negotiation and supplier management of Packaging spend
* Optimising clear strategies to support raw material fluctuations
* Defining and developing a clear savings plan linked to packaging specification reviews and sourcing activities
* Providing support to the full Business Continuity lifecycle which includes analysis, design, implementation and validation
* Plan, schedule and support the delivery of workshops, meetings and training sessions
* You'll act as a trusted advisor to our five stakeholder groups: suppliers, customers, colleagues, shareholders, and communities to build a pipeline for future cost improvements across packaging.
This role will be in the office operating over a 4.5 day working week and based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, prayer room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Additionally, we're embracing hybrid working, providing the flexibility of up to one day working from home.

* Developing and implementing category management best practices, SRM techniques and sourcing strategies through previous work experience
* Knowledge of relevant forms of contract to best procure goods and services
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) - Desirable
* Strong Procurement technical skills including excellent commercialism
* Confident Use of digital Enablers (eProc and digital Proc)
* The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
* To be able to develop and maintain a supplier network through effective and regular due diligence, identifying new solutions and markets, developing a regular process for continuous improvement
* Previous experience and knowledge on negotiating terms and ensuring compliant contracts are in place
* Demonstrate the importance of leading-edge subject matter expertise through example
