SCHOOL CHEF
40 hours per week
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Week 2: Wednesday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, plus full-day shifts on Saturday and Sunday
£26,000 to £29,000
We are working with an Independant School in Hastings that are seeking a Chef to join them on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Catering Manager in the smooth operation of the kitchen.
* Manage kitchen administration, HACCP documentation, and compliance with food safety regulations.
* Prepare meals to specification, ensuring budget compliance and minimal waste.
* Provide a chef presence during meal service to enhance the dining experience.
* Conduct regular fridge and storage checks to maintain hygiene and compliance with SFBB and EHO guidelines.
* Ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen in accordance with COSHH regulations and the Food Safety Act.
They are seeking someone who has the following:
* Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Cooking and Food Preparation or 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
* Strong knowledge of allergens and food safety regulations (SFBB & HACCP procedures).
