One of two UK-qualified Probation Officers, you will undertake all offender management tasks. This will include assessing and managing the risk posed by offenders. With lead responsibility for interventions you will develop partnerships, train and nurture local staff and provide input to the island’s Safeguarding Board on behalf of the Probation Service. You will contribute directly to public protection through your role as Chair of the island’s Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements. You must also deliver interventions to young people who are considered ‘at risk’ of offending through the Youth Diversion Scheme, responding to crises or emergencies, providing guidance, support, and referrals as necessary for those serving sentences within the community. Your training, support and supervision of the Probation Support Officer will be invaluable.
Holding an Honours Degree or Graduate Diploma in Community Justice and Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice, or a Diploma in Probation Studies; Diploma in Social Work (Probation option); or CQSW (Probation option) you are qualified in RM2000, SARA and ARMS. With substantial post-qualifi...
