We have a rare opportunity for an experienced OT security engineer to join our team at RWE, the UK’s largest power generation company.
This position will focus on securing OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the safe, reliable and secure operations of Little Barford Power Station in St Neots. You will be responsible for protecting critical assets from cyber threats, implementing security best practices and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards – all vital in keeping the country’s lights on.
About the role
* Implement the OT Security Strategy for RWE Generation’s power plants.
* Support power stations in operating the ISMS, including risk analyses, audits, and effectiveness checks.
* Develop, evaluate, and adapt best practice solutions, standards, and regulations for ISMS.
* Convert security requirements into processes, technical documentation, and work instructions.
* Conduct cyber risk assessments and ensure secure design in site modification projects.
* Monitor, report, and coordinate responses to security measures, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
* Maintain site system security through vulnerability reviews, patching, and life cycle management.
* Organize and deliver ISMS training and routine security exercises for site staff.
Job Requirements and Experience
* Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences, or equivalent education.
* Strong knowledge of OT infrastructures, application architectures, and regulatory standards (CAF, ISO/27001).
* Experience with power plant operations and OT systems (T3000, 800xA, Foxboro, Ovation, Speedtronic) is advantageous.
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, PROFINET).
* Proven experience in planning and leading projects with strong communication skills.
* High commitment, flexibility, resilience, and willingness to travel.
* Business fluency in English.

* Other language skills, particularly Dutch and/or German.
