We are working with a specialist school in the Rochdale Area to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants for a full-time role to begin as soon as possible.
The role would be focused on those with additional needs. The school has different classes to support different needs such as Autism, communication difficulties, and behaviour-based needs.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you would support the pupils under the direction of the teacher to complete academic work and improve social skills such as communication, emotional regulation, and management of challenging behaviour.
The school is purpose-built to support those with additional needs, equipped with classrooms and facilities such as sensory rooms and soft play areas, with a high staff-to-pupil ratio in each room.
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant MUST have:
1. Experience of supporting young people in a school or care environment within the UK
2. Availability to work 08:30-15:30, Monday to Friday
It would also be beneficial for applicants to have:
1. Confidence in supporting instances of challenging behaviour
2. Experience of working with SEN including complex autism
3. A positive and proactive attitude
