Salary: £75,000 – £92,000 + up to 20% bonus per annum.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
* The Solutions Architect for NHBC proactively helps guide the CDTO through technology enterprise transformation and optimisation initiatives, supporting the formulation of future strategy, leading the technology landscape within the business, ensuring that the appropriate governance, controls, tools, artefacts, products, capabilities, and strategies are in place.
* Ensure that the Security Architecture is integrated into digital development and assurance.
* Chair the IT Architecture Group and Design Authority subgroup to co-ordinate the development of the digital business strategy and road map, and ensures its integration with the NHBC strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
* Review technical design and approach for all Projects, as defined in the Strategic Change Governance Framework.
* Act as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects and thus the impact on all business areas within NHBC.
* Publicise business centric architectural directions and roadmaps to business colleagues and explaining impacts of those plans on the NHBC business plan.
* Be able to proactively identify and resolve issues that create inefficiencies or hinder progress.
* Research relevant technologies and demonstrate their benefits by developing POCs where necessary.
* Mentor and coach business and IT staff in enterprise architecture concepts and methods, acting as a technology consultant with a broad range and depth of knowledge across IT projects to become a trusted advisor for the business.
The ideal candidate will have
* Demonstrable experience of managing the development, support, maintenance and enhancement of complex application systems and associated architectures.
* Demonstrable technical management experience (including experience of Oracle technologies / tools, Service Oriented Architecture, Microsoft technologies / tools – SQL Server, dotNET / dotNET Core, APIs – RESTful / SOAP, Jenkins, Ansible, Nginx), along with strong knowledge of role based security architectures.
* Experience of Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment.
* Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
* Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management and business development.
* Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Management.
* Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

* Desirable to have a Information Technology or Data Science Degree qualification or similar, relevant to job opportunity.
* Relevant education and qualifications and evidence of continuous professional development.
