As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with complex needs, using evidence-based/person-centred principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment with minimal supervision. You will also professionally supervise junior members of staff and contribute to the maintenance and development of the local OT service.
1. To maintain own professional competence and ensure other team members do so.
2. Complete full assessments of patients’ occupational performance including areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.
3. Utilise relevant standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.
4. Devise core treatment programmes, utilising graded activities.
5. Communicate with patients in a way that respects their views, autonomy, and culture.
6. Implement group and individual treatments to achieve therapeutic goals.
7. Contribute to all aspects of risk assessment and management within your clinical area.
8. Evaluate and modify interventions, utilising appropriate outcome measures.
9. Practice in accordance with legislation and good practice guidance relevant to your clinical area.
10. Contribute to the production of treatment plans and risk assessments in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
11. Complete all necessary clinical documentation in accordance with Surehaven Policy and professional standards.
12. Attend and provide OT written reports for Clinical Reviews and Team meetings such as CPA meetings, MAPPA meetings in accordance with Surehaven and professional standards.
13. Contribute to the development of professional documentation in consultation with the Hospital Manager.
14. To frequently take an active part in the teaching of permanent staff, students, and multi-professional groups.
15. Maintain professional portfolios in line with HPC and COT requirements.
16. To promote and maintain good public relations with purchasers and members of the public.
17. Keep abreast of relevant new initiatives and recommendations from COT and other relevant organisations, ensuring that practice is informed and current.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday - 09:00 - 17:00
