The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre is recruiting to build our engineering teams in Sustainable Polymers & Composites to support the development of innovative and emerging industry-focussed solutions.
Position Overview
As Senior Engineer, you will apply your specialist knowledge and experience to support Preforming R&D activities as part of the Sustainable Polymers & Composites Group. You will work collaboratively with your team, industry, technology providers, national technology centres and academia to deliver key projects focused on advanced composites preforming activities. You will also have responsibility for operations of the AMIC composites (NIACE) facility and equipment, supporting work scheduling and quality delivery.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
1. Honours Degree, or equivalent with significant recent relevant industrial experience OR minimum HND in related engineering discipline with extensive recent and relevant experience.
2. Proven experience in 3D weaving technology, loom configuration and design.
3. Competent in the application of engineering design and composites technology, with clear experience of using CAD/CAM.
4. Demonstrable experience of operating project management, resource management and quality systems.
5. Experience of managing facilities including equipment and maintenance.
6. Experience of planning and scheduling engineering trials and assets.
7. Experience of using research tools and techniques resulting in high quality project and technical reports.
8. Evidence of delivering on multifaceted projects within deadlines and budget.
Contract Details
This post is available on a fixed term contract for 3 years in the first instance. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
