Title: Structural Engineer

About the role:
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join a growing consultancy and provide ongoing technical support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.
As a Structural Engineer, you will be working on a range of residential, commercial, and education projects and should be able to demonstrate experience in these sectors. Of particular importance in this role will be someone with experience and interest in completing building appraisals and expertise in refurbishment and repurposing of existing buildings.
Within the role of Structural Engineer, it will be essential for the chosen individual to complete accurate reports, and your input and contribution to the team are viewed as essential in the continued development of the business. The role will see you completing site investigations, inspections, and identifying and resolving issues on existing building structures. You will also be completing the design required in addressing project needs and managing the project throughout with representation of the company at client and design team meetings.
About you:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience working for UK-based consultancies, and a background working on similar projects is desired in order to ensure a close match to the existing and upcoming workload.
In addition to having a confident, commercial, and professional outlook, you should have:
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Minimum of 2 years UK-based experience
* Experience working with Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber materials
* Strength in knowledge of soils, foundations, and drainage would also be advantageous
* Strength in working to British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant design guidance
* Strong analytical, communication, and technical skills
* Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
* Chartered or near-Chartered status with the IStructE or ICE
* Background in building appraisals, site inspections, and assessments of existing buildings for refurbishment or repurposing
Software required:
* AutoCAD
* Tekla
* Revit
* Microsoft Office suite
