Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition. This role is designed to interpret the customer's technical enquiry and to design the most cost effective overall solution for an HVDC installation utilising the PES power electronics solutions, aiming to minimising the total cost, and to specify the main (high-value) items of bought-out equipment. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and industrialisation of solutions tools and processes. The successful candidate will have proven professional experience and technical expertise in the field of power system engineering.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Modelling and performing the studies; deliver study reports.
2. Technical responsibility in areas of expertise.
3. Provide guidance to peers on areas of expertise.
4. Customer facing responsibilities.
5. Processes: Develop and industrialise solution tools and processes associated with the engineering activities identified above.
6. Design Guides.
Development:
Be actively involved in new developments in HVDC technologies, implementing control and protection solutions and creating / delivering new analysis techniques and system study tools in order to provide optimised system study solutions.
External activities:
Represent the business in external events by publishing technical papers or participating in working groups (CIGRE/IEC/IEEE). Adherence to company policies and Code of Conduct.

1. RMS Transient Stability.
2. Fundamental Frequency Temporary Overvoltage.
3. Control Interaction.
Harmonic Studies:
1. Harmonic performance; harmonic stability; harmonic filter design.
2. Power Line Carrier Interference studies and filters.
3. Harmonic site measurements.
Electromagnetic Compatibility Studies:
1. Radio Frequency Interference and screening.
2. Electromagnetic Fields.
3. Substation Electromagnetic Zoning.
4. EMC compliance and risk assessment of the substation.
5. Earthing and bonding.
Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) Studies:
1. Transient Overvoltage.
2. Transient Recovery Voltage.
3. Lightning.
4. Other EMT studies.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Power Systems Engineering degree, MSc and above.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated experience in industrial engineering roles.
