Each county has its own dedicated Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), the service has been commissioned to improve the immediate medical response and aftercare offered to victims of sexual assault and rape.
Mountain Healthcare are a specialist business already providing similar services to 20 other SARCs in locations across the UK. For this role, you will work as the Regional Contract Director and will be responsible for SARC Regions and all activities related to the smooth running of the SARC.
About the Role
This role is full-time, 40 hours per week, primarily Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, but as and when business needs. Locations: Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk. Salary: £52,000 - £56,200 per annum, depending on experience and is based on Full Time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commissioner/Contract Management
2. Accountable for the successful delivery of the Eastern region contracts to include:
1. Overall financial performance of the Eastern contract
2. Overall commissioner satisfaction
3. Overall provision of the service model
4. Team leadership
5. Delivery of KPIs
6. Adherence to agreed quality standards
7. Continuous improvement & Meeting our regulators' standards
8. Growth of the existing contracts - sales targets
9. Identification of new opportunities for Mountain within their region
10. Reporting
11. Budget ownership - within delegated authorities
12. Own the stakeholder relationships - commissioners and other third parties
13. Regional influencer role - playing a strategic role in communicating what we do
14. Act as an ambassador for our service
15. Identify service gaps, potential business cases, and new opportunities for growth
16. Foster good relationships with our commissioners and partner agencies
17. Accountable for ensuring that the end-to-end patient journey through our service is as good as it can possibly be
18. Identifying and solutioning new service areas for patients
19. To oversee the delivery of the clinical elements of SARC healthcare provision as set out in the Contracts
20. To act as the operational single point of contact (Ops SPOC) for Doctors
21. Clinical Be accountable for ensuring that our forensic service conforms to all relevant quality standards (CQC, UKAS, Mountain etc)
22. Be accountable for ensuring that safeguarding is embedded throughout their service
23. Be accountable for ensuring that the service conforms to best practice for medicines management
3. Multi Agency Working
4. Lead on regional operational groups
5. Engage with local safeguarding boards
6. Governance & Quality
7. CQC Registered Manager if required
8. Accountable for ensuring the QMS (QM, documented processes, audit frameworks etc) are up to date and fit for purpose
9. Accountable for ensuring the risk registers in their region, action plans (local, SI and CQC), asset register; information asset register are up to date and fit for purpose
10. Accountable for Health and safety across their region
11. Accountable for ensuring that PAIERs are properly actioned
12. Accountable for ensuring that investigations of serious incidents are properly completed
13. Accountable for ensuring that complaints are properly investigated and closed
14. Accountable for ensuring that patient satisfaction measures are met
15. Accountable for ensuring that all relevant audits are carried out
16. Accountable for ensuring that Information Asset Ownership is properly managed in their regions
17. Accountable for ensuring that the activities to support Forensic Regulator accreditation are completed
18. Accountable for continually monitoring potential accreditations to identify those that we should sign up to in order to ensure that our patients have the best possible experience
19. Proactively manage service user feedback to drive continuous improvement
20. Be accountable for ensuring that serious case review; safeguarding rapid reviews for adults and children are completed to the required standard
21. Be accountable for records management and information governance within their region
22. For any SI, be accountable for ensuring that the NHSE escalation process is properly managed.
23. Ensure that the service is compliant with the audit schedule and ensure that action plans are completed
24. Be accountable for ensuring that the needs of the criminal justice system are met (eg production of statements)
25. Ensure that requirements for reports for child protection proceedings are met
26. Oversight of forensic regulator requirements
27. Ensure that registered healthcare professionals under your management renew their registration as directed by their professional body.
28. Communicating to your teams, the importance of maintaining professional registrations at all times.
29. Maintaining a system to record relevant professional registrations, expiry and renewal dates of the staff you are responsible for.
1. Leadership
2. Have leadership responsibility for all the staff in the region - including performance management; MAST compliance; supervision; Rotamaster; interviewing; appraisals, sickness, signing off time sheets
3. Accountable for staff satisfaction
4. Direct line management of SARC Managers and other key members of the team as required
5. Take responsibility for staff wellbeing - ensuring that it is measured
6. Accountable for the service provided by the doctors in their areas
7. Promoting a positive culture within their region - promoting Mountain values and behaviours
8. Supporting research and quality improvement activities for the region
9. Take responsibility for communicating new initiatives and comms messages on behalf of the organisation as a whole
10. Play an active role in the senior leadership team within Mountain to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of its shareholders
11. Accountable for ensuring rota compliance across the region
12. Accountable for ensuring that their teams are compliant with MAST, vetting, revalidation, onboarding and offboarding and DBS
Training and Personal Development
1. Attend supervision for themselves and carry out supervision for their direct reports
2. Take personal responsibility to keep up to date with relevant guidance (eg FFLM, NHSE) so that our service remains safe
3. Take personal responsibility to keep up to date with CPD
4. If clinical, do a minimum of one clinical shift per month to ensure that they remain compliant with their registration and understand how the service is delivered at the frontline
5. To undertake Mandatory and Statutory Training in line with Mountain Healthcare policy
6. Accountable for their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of their teams
7. Ensure that all the required activities for revalidation are successfully completed (if applicable)
8. To undertake training in line with the objectives and PDP set at regular formal appraisals
