Overview:
A Mold Remediation Contractor in Texas is responsible for overseeing and performing mold remediation projects in compliance with state regulations. This role includes assessing mold damage, developing remediation plans, supervising workers, and ensuring all remediation activities adhere to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Planning
* Conduct initial mold inspections and assessments to determine the scope of remediation.
* Develop and implement detailed mold remediation plans following Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) guidelines.
* Identify sources of moisture contributing to mold growth and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
Mold Remediation Execution
* Oversee and perform mold removal, cleaning, and treatment using industry-approved techniques.
* Ensure proper containment and air filtration procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
* Dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR) and TDLR licensing requirements.
* Maintain detailed records of remediation projects, including before-and-after assessments and clearance testing.
* Conduct post-remediation verification to confirm successful mold removal and clearance testing results.
Supervision & Coordination
* Supervise mold remediation workers and ensure proper training and adherence to safety protocols.
* Coordinate with property owners, insurance adjusters, and other contractors as needed.
* Communicate remediation progress and any necessary follow-up actions to clients.
Required Qualifications
* Valid Mold Remediation Contractor License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
* Knowledge of Texas Mold Assessment and Remediation Rules (TMARR) and compliance requirements.
* Strong understanding of mold remediation procedures, safety standards, and proper containment practices.
* Ability to operate remediation equipment such as HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, and dehumidifiers.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage projects and supervise workers.
Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience in mold remediation.
* Experience in other restoration fields such as water damage mitigation or fire restoration.
* Certifications from recognized industry organizations (e.g., IICRC – Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification).
This role is essential for maintaining safe and healthy environments by properly identifying, removing, and preventing mold contamination in residential and commercial properties.
