Temporary Works Coordinator, Port Talbot
Sir Robert McAlpine is preparing for a major construction programme in Port Talbot, South Wales. The project involves heavy civil engineering works over the next 3 to 4 years, starting with enabling works in Q3 2025. The project value exceeds £200 million.
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator for this complex and technically challenging project. Since 1869, Sir Robert McAlpine has been a leader in building and civil engineering projects, including the Eden Project, Olympic Stadium, and Bloomberg building.

The Temporary Works Coordinator Role
* Support all aspects of temporary works design, coordination, submission, compliance, programming, and management.
* Act as the primary contact between temporary works designers and site teams/contractors.
* Coordinate all temporary works activities ensuring design briefs are adequate and site requirements are met.
* Ensure temporary works designs are carried out satisfactorily, checked, and approved.
* Manage appointments and updates for contractors during construction.
* Conduct pre-erection inspections and supervise erection, use, maintenance, and dismantling of temporary works.
* Verify that temporary works are erected according to approved designs and issue permits as needed.
* Manage change control processes and ensure proper maintenance and inspection of temporary works.
* Perform regular audits and reviews of temporary works designs and installations.
* Review and approve temporary works designs from contractors or in-house.
* Manage interfaces across production and subcontractor teams.
Your Profile
* Current TWC CITB Certification or equivalent, with a valid CSCS card, and contractor/subcontractor management experience.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, preferably Civil or Structural.
* Experience in temporary works design/delivery management on large infrastructure projects.
* Strong organizational, influencing, and communication skills.
* Effective stakeholder management skills.
* Full driving license.
