Algorithm Development Lead
Salary: £55,000 to £58,000 (DOE)
Location: Stevenage
Role Overview:
As the leader of algorithm development in Stevenage, you will have the chance to influence the technical direction of projects and grow your team to meet future demands. You will also serve as the key point of contact for guidance, control, and navigation (GCN) algorithms, managing relationships with both partners and clients.
Responsibilities:
You will collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers on advanced and complex technologies. The role will involve working with other specialties such as:
1. Simulation and modelling
2. Image processing
3. Software development
4. Navigation sensors
5. Hardware-in-the-loop systems
6. Systems design and validation
7. Seekers and sensors
8. Datalinks
9. Technical quality assurance

Ideal Candidate:
1. Excellent leadership and communication abilities
2. Collaborative and transparent leadership style, motivating and inspiring others to achieve objectives
3. Prior experience managing teams is preferred
4. Strong interest in emerging technologies and their real-world applications
5. A degree or equivalent experience in a field with a strong mathematical foundation (such as Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science)
6. Post-doctoral or relevant industry experience is an advantage
7. Knowledge in areas like guidance, navigation, control systems, command and control, dynamic systems, sensors, or autonomous systems is beneficial
8. Familiarity with algorithm development and related tools is valuable
9. Experience in algorithm research or involvement in product development and support is highly desirable
