Devon County Council is delighted to offer the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Improvement Technician Apprenticeship working in local government as part of a team delivering one of the Council’s highest priority transformation programmes.
We are recruiting to 3 positions, 1 of which is ringfenced to a care leaver/experienced young person.
About you
You will have an interest in making a difference – whether that’s through changes to ways of working, identifying opportunities for doing things better, or supporting others to make improvements themselves.
You will be a natural problem-solver who enjoys getting into the detail and developing plans to implement solutions.
You will also enjoy working in a team and be comfortable taking a variety of roles whether working on a defined product under the direction of more experienced team members or collaborating and motivating others to achieve goals.
To be eligible for funding for this Apprenticeship, you must have a right to reside and lived in the UK for 3 years or more.
About the role
We have created this new role specifically to offer this Apprenticeship and to support the objectives of our transformation programme.
As a Level 3 Improvement Technician Apprentice you will be working on the Joint Adults and Children’s Systems Programme (known as the JACS Programme).
The JACS Programme has a focus on transforming the systems and processes that are used by Adults and Children’s social care, and social care finance teams.
You will work alongside project delivery professionals such as project managers, business analysts, and project support officers as part of the Transformation and Business Services Directorate.
Working on JACS will also mean working alongside and gaining experience of Integrated Adult Social Care and Children and Young People’s Futures Directorates.
In this role, you will be:
* supporting change and improvement activities to deliver on Corporate priorities and service improvement plans.
* assisting in engaging teams and individuals in change and improvement activities and help with initiating and facilitating improvement projects.
* supporting business improvement methods, and assists with data collection and analysis.
* supporting analytical tasks such as root cause analysis and problem solving.
You will receive line management and supervision from one of our Project Managers, and coaching and mentoring from one of our Business Analysts through a buddying system.
About the team
You will be joining the Change and Improvement Team which is part of the Council’s Transformation and Business Services Directorate.
The team provides professional project expertise and capabilities for Devon County Council’s Corporate priorities and service improvement plans.
This means we are regularly working with other professionals from across the Council and its Directorates.
