We are hiring for roles on our factory floor in Derbyshire, including: Timber Frame Fabricator & Yard Person
Oregon Timber Frame (OTFE), one of the UK’s largest timber frame manufacturers, a division of Barratt Redrow PLC, Britain’s largest housebuilder, following an acquisition in 2019. We specialise in the design, manufacture, supply, and erection of structural timbers for all divisions across the Barratt Group.

Yard Person:
You will work within our Timber Frame factory. Duties include, but are not limited to: picking and packing material, using machine and hand tools, operating a forklift truck (FLT) and/or side loader truck (Combi lift) to move timber frame material around the manufacturing environment, controlling both the inbound and outbound delivery of raw materials. You will work as part of a larger team striving to meet production deadlines and adhering to all manner of health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working operation.
OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Take delivery and record all goods received to the factory, with a strong focus on your record-keeping being a crucial part of this.
* Unload delivery vehicles and place goods into allocated stock locations, delivering packs of both cut and uncut materials to areas of production when required.
* Pick materials for shipping and package them ready for dispatch, checking off items and ensuring that the correct items and quantities are loaded onto dispatch vehicles.
* Load or unload vehicles maintaining the highest level of safety and environmental standards.
* Ensure high safety standards are adhered to maintain a safe working environment.
* Responsible for following inbound and outbound schedule by pallet retrieving, marshalling and loading pallets as per defined VOPs.
* The role will also require adaptability and flexibility as you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
* A current Combi lift Forklift truck licence (RTITB or ITSAR).
* A current Counter Balance Forklift truck licence (RTITB or ITSAR).
* Experience with Power Tools preferred but not essential. (Full training will be provided).
* Confident in using Nail and Staple guns, hand saws and chop saws.
* CNC Operators, Carpenters & Saw Operators, we would love to speak with you and further your career with this exciting opportunity.
* Ability to read and build from technical drawings.
* Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Flexible to work shifts and be adaptable to change.
* Health and safety is a priority on site – you must report any issues or defects to a senior member of staff.
