Job Title: Mammographer
Location: Bupa Health Centre Manchester, M22 5XB
Contract: BANK SHIFTS
Salary range: £25.00 per hour
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mammographer to work Bank shifts in our health centre in South Manchester, providing an efficient and effective mammography service as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Here we provide a range of services to include; GP services, health assessments, physiotherapy, musculoskeletal service, coronary checks, and more.
You’ll use state-of-the-art technology with Pristina, which is engineered for a better patient experience along the entire breast care pathway, from screening and diagnosis to treatment planning and monitoring. You’ll improve our customer journey by carrying out the screenings on-site on the day of health assessments, ensuring patient have a fast and efficient service from screening to treatment.
You’ll work autonomously to provide high standards of service and experience to all the clinic’s customers with the support of doctors, health advisors and administrators. You’ll be part of a wider team of mammographers across Bupa each managed by their clinic’s centre manager under the advisory of the Clinical Mammography Lead. You’ll also support in managing quality and compliance policies, practices and standards used in your clinic.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
Reporting to the centre manager you will be working independently, but as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team within the clinic. You will show flexibility of shared tasks to ensure that we provide the best quality service and establishing good working relationships.
The department can be extremely busy, and you must be able to work independently with efficiency in a complex environment and have an adaptability and sensitivity to work in a diverse working environment.
Other duties include:
1. Organise the daily work programme to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
2. Work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns of the Mammography service.
3. Perform high quality examinations as required by referring physicians according to departmental policies and procedures.
4. Ensure that all patients being imaged receive a very high standard of care.
5. Accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.
6. Ensure all equipment within the department is cared for and maintained, cleanliness is upheld and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.
7. Maintain the efficient use of all resources, establish stock control systems and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
8. A flexible and adaptive working attitude is crucial.
9. Use your own initiative in responding to the needs of the service and have a strong focus on streamlining the patient pathway through the imaging department.
10. Work closely with the centre manager, Lead Mammographer and wider MDT to maintain and enhance the Breast imaging service we offer to our patients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
11. BSc or DCR in Radiography (essential)
12. Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography (essential)
