Role Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our 16+ supported Living Provisions. We offer specialist care for vulnerable young people in a residential setting. This role is pivotal in supporting young people as they transition towards independent living, helping them develop life skills and providing emotional and practical support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Flexibility and adaptability is key for this role. You can take care of your own schedule; the shift is 8am-8am, which includes an overnight stay in the home.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide person-centred support tailored to the needs of each young person, promoting independence and self-confidence.
2. Assist with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, budgeting, and household management.
3. Support young people in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities.
4. Build positive relationships with young people to foster trust, emotional security, and personal growth.
5. Develop and implement individual care plans and risk assessments in collaboration with multi-agency professionals.
6. Provide emotional and behavioural support, using de-escalation techniques and therapeutic approaches where necessary.
7. Encourage social inclusion and facilitate engagement in community activities.
8. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with organisational policies and safeguarding procedures.
9. Work collaboratively with social workers and management.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience: Previous experience working with children or young adults in a similar role is highly desirable.
2. Education: Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred.
3. Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate young people.
4. Attributes: A proactive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with young people. A commitment to being a positive influence and role model.
5. Requirements: A valid UK driver's licence and a clear Enhanced DBS check or willing to complete one.
