Amazon is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to fill an IT Support Associate I position at our IT Operations. This role provides support for IT Offices throughout the region. This position is the first level of support for the operations of the IT operations while also acting as a representative of the IT department to internal customers.
The successful IT Support Associate will be customer-focused and motivated by team success. You will be innovative and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while dealing with a high volume of requests. You will also be committed, flexible, and demonstrate the ability to maintain high levels of productivity while maintaining quality support. Follow SOPs, adhere to process and maintain database for your area of responsibility. ITSAs are also responsible for small projects within the operations as well as team members for larger scale projects directed by more senior technicians.
Key job responsibilities
1. Manage new hire IT equipment setup and deployment, ensuring systems are properly configured and ready for use.
2. Coordinate and track inter-site inventory management, maintaining accurate records of IT assets across multiple locations.
3. Plan and execute lifecycle replacement projects for computing equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
4. Provide technical support to internal users, including data backup assistance, equipment replacement coordination, operating system troubleshooting, and resolution of software-related issues.
5. Execute off-boarding procedures, including equipment collection, data security protocols, and asset recovery.
6. Oversee E-waste management such as coordination of the proper disposal of outdated equipment by partnering with certified e-waste vendors, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and maintaining thorough disposal documentation.
A day in the life
As an IT Support Associate I, your day revolves around managing the full lifecycle of technology equipment. You start by preparing and configuring new Windows and Mac systems for incoming employees, ensuring they're ready for deployment. Throughout the day, you handle user support tickets, troubleshoot OS issues, and assist with data backups. You manage inventory across multiple sites, coordinate equipment transfers, and execute lifecycle replacement projects. You also process equipment from departing employees, ensuring data security and proper disposal. E-waste management and maintaining accurate asset records are ongoing responsibilities that help keep our IT infrastructure organized and efficient.
About the team
The IT team is responsible for preparing IT equipment for all new employees from day one. Key responsibilities include ITAD, inventory management, lifecycle replacement projects, off-boarding, hardware troubleshooting, and logging cases with OEMs for replacements. The team ensures employees have the necessary IT equipment and support throughout their employment.
Minimum Requirements
1. At least 1+ years of technical experience in IT Operations.
2. Knowledgeable with Windows and Mac OS.
3. Basic knowledge of Computer and Networking.
4. Knowledgeable in ITAD Process -- Secured wipe.
5. Asset management or Inventory Management.
6. Experience with PC troubleshooting and repairs.
7. Basic English communication and written communication skills desired.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
2. Familiar with Windows and Mac OS installation.
3. Knowledgeable with asset management and good to have any experience in using ServiceNow.
4. Working with 3PL for importing and exporting.
