Fire Safety Manager - Bristol
£395.52 Per Day
Monday - Friday (37 Hours)
Hybrid Role
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safety of the building, primarily for the safety of all occupants of multi-occupied residential buildings including Low-Rise Residential Buildings, High-Rise Residential Buildings, and Supported Housing for Older People (SHOP).
* Meet statutory obligations for fire safety and contribute to the Council's fire safety strategies and policies.
* Input on Building Safety policies and procedures, develop and update fire safety strategies, and work on fire safety aspects of building safety cases.
* Initiate and lead the delivery of Fire Safety internal projects, ensuring alignment with Council policies and effective application of Fire Safety Strategy.
* Drive the Council's risk management approach to comply with cyclical fire safety programmes.
* Act as the strategic lead for Fire Safety, collaborating with Primary Authority Partners at Avon Fire & Rescue Service.
* Ensure compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety responsibilities in line with legislation and building regulations.
* Assist with resident engagement in high-rise and/or higher-risk housing, ensuring fire safety concerns are recorded and addressed.
* Develop procedures to gather information on vulnerable residents regarding evacuation from buildings.
* Conduct or procure third-party audits on fire safety matters, inspections, and investigations.
* Manage and respond to fire prohibition and enforcement notices from Avon Fire & Rescue Service.
Minimum Requirements:
* Fire safety related qualification, or equivalent (minimum of Level 4).
* Professional membership to IFE and/or IFSM, or equivalent.
* Ability to formulate and articulate strategies and plans.
* Ability to lead and manage, inspiring and motivating people across a whole service.
* Ability to manage performance effectively and hold team members accountable.
* Ability to plan and manage finance and budgets to meet performance targets.
* Ability to contribute to innovation and take analytical approaches to solving complex problems.
* Highly developed advocacy, negotiation, and presentation skills.
